About Dr Brendan

Dr Brendan Chin is a general practitioner with a special interest in primary eye care. He graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore.

After graduating he rotated through several disciplines across major restructured hospitals in Singapore, including orthopaedics, emergency medicine, general surgery, internal medicine and ophthalmology. During his National Service he served in the Navy as a medical officer, where he was trained in hyperbaric and underwater medicine and certified as a Designated Workplace Doctor (Compressed Air Works). He subsequently attained the Graduate Diploma in Family Medicine and is an accredited Family Physician.

He developed an interest in community and primary eye care after rotating and training across the ophthalmology departments at the National Healthcare Group Eye Institute, where he had the privilege of treating patients with a wide range of eye diseases. He attained the Certificate of The Royal College of Ophthalmologists in 2026.

Before his appointment at The Straits Eye Centre, he served as Medical Director of MSC Clinic, where he managed patients with primary care conditions, with a special interest in myopia control management in children.

He believes in holistic and personalised patient care, and is committed to delivering comprehensive primary eye care. His approach is patient-centred, with care tailored to each patient’s needs.
